In 2007 we were comissioned by the Animation department at the Royal College of Art to design their annual catalogue. For this project we collaborated with Filip Tydén to create the booklet and DVD reel. The catalogue was launched on the occasion of the students' graduation. It was sent to festivals, other colleges and potential employers as a way to promote the department and the students.

When designing the catalogue, the imagery to be used on the cover was one of our main concerns. Selecting images for the cover would mean privileging some students' work over the others. Besides, the department takes pride in generating projects of different animation techniques and selecting only a couple of images would not show their variety.

Our solution is a visual representation of the nature of the department, merging message and graphics. The elaborate typography brings to the cover a visual quality that compensates the absence of images. This lettering brought identity to the catalogue and was also applied on the DVD disc and menu animations, students' business cards and adverts.
